* What do I need to buy?
Competitive Students & Non-Competitive Students: We encourage you to use our new store front. There is a package of apparel that is put together for men and ladies. These shirts will be worn at home football games while the weather is still warm and under the uniform later in the season. You will be given the option to purchase extra shirts for your student (and whole family) through this website. This can be helpful as we often have Friday night games and Saturday morning events. Keep in mind that there is a deadline for ordering! Students will also need: Plain, long black socks and Black Marching Shoes (purchased through Mr. Matthews) PROTIP: It is helpful for students to own more than one show shirt. Competitive: Students will also need the following items:
Directors will take care of ordering competition uniforms. Your competition band fees takes care of that aspect. * Click the Apparel Store picture to be directed to the store. |
* Concert Attire - All Black
Ladies, we suggest wearing either dresses or pant suits. Dresses can have short or long sleeves but should extend below the knees and cover the shoulders without revealing low necklines, backs, or having side or high slits. Please avoid strapless, sleeveless gowns, spaghetti straps, transparent materials like tulle, excessive rhinestones, or intricate details. Opt for modest cuts and black dress shoes. Short dresses, regardless of the instrument, are not permitted. Additionally, refrain from wearing hats or head coverings.
Gentlemen, we recommend solid black, long-sleeve button-up shirts paired with black ties and dress slacks. Complete the look with black dress shoes and matching socks without any reflective or shiny markings. Hats or head coverings are not allowed.
If uncertain about attire, it's advisable to seek guidance from a director.

* Performances and Competitions
The band's commitments involve performances at every home football game, with students expected to remain after school for brief rehearsals, provided meals by the band parent organization. Following the game, students are required to stay until the group returns to the band room, where they change attire, regroup, and are dismissed. This process can span up to an hour after the game concludes.
During game days, students play during the first half and at halftime, with the third quarter designated as a break for them to access concessions. They resume playing for the fourth quarter. It's essential not to plan for early departures as the group enters and exits the stadium together.
Throughout the competition season, typically from late September to early November, Friday night games and Saturday morning competition calls are common. Having an extra show shirt on hand can help avoid last-minute laundry issues arising from late-night activities.
Parents are strongly encouraged to attend competitions whenever feasible. Witnessing the band's prowess on the field during competitions often leaves a profound impression on new parents, who might not anticipate the immense pride evoked. Additionally, parents are invited to attend the final 30 minutes of rehearsals to support students performing in front of an audience, as the encouragement of a cheering crowd serves as a motivator.
Community performances mark the commencement of the season, typically scheduled towards the end of the summer band sessions, showcasing the band's talents for the local community.
