The jazz band program is led by Mr. Keith Matthews and will perform at seven or eight basketball games and several concerts throughout the year.

Jazz Ensemble will meet as a regular class during the school day.  Rehearsals may be set up after marching band to include others not in the class.  Instrumentation will be limited to Saxophones, Trombones, Trumpets, Guitar, Bass, Piano, and Drum Set.  Repertoire for this group will consist of a range of standard big classics and newer jazz works.  Students will work on playing with correct jazz styles and improvisation skills.  Jazz students will be expected to tryout for All Region Jazz Band.  Most performances will be outside of the school day.
